The name is a modest allusion to Wittgenstein\u2019s <em>Tractatus<\/em> and his idea that we see the world through a grid of factual statements. It was not that difficult to correlate this thought with images \u2013 looking backwards and a across cultural borders. The blog\u2019s main page uses <a href=\"https:\/\/factgrid-tools.geschichte.uni-halle.de\/blog\/header-images\">these changing images<\/a> with humour and as inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>That, however, is all we have at the moment \u2013 leaving a lot to be done. The different software platforms \u2013 our blog (WordPress), the Wikibase installation (Wikimedia design), and Magnus\u2019 Manske\u2019s Reasonator child do not really go together design-wise.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The project does not have a logo.<\/li>\n<li>We are presently using <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/typography\/font-list\/corbel\">Corbel<\/a> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/factgrid-tools.geschichte.uni-halle.de\/blog\/\">FactGrid\u2019s blog<\/a>, a font with space to breathe, modern with its sans serif design <em>and<\/em> yet conservative with its medieval numerals and ligatures\u2026 is there an open source alternative? And: do we need to go open source with the font?<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/database.factgrid.de\/wiki\/Main_Page\">database<\/a> still has the Wikidata design (and basically the design of all the central Wikipedia projects). The blog is more in the direction to go. The database should, however, stay in close contact with its wikibase mother, so that anyone working primarily on the mother project can immediately feel right at home on our platform.<\/li>\n<li>The FactGrid\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/database.factgrid.de\/reasonator\/#\/\">Reasonator<\/a> interface should enjoy greater freedom to adopt a unified design since we are here mostly interested in an interface that represents information.
